A very rare and quirky 40’s archtop from the original Epiphone factory in New York. The Epiphone Ritz features a 15 1/4 body with flame maple back and sides and a spruce top. The neck is made from Cherry and has a rosewood fingerboard.
This guitar has opened up nicely and sounds lovely. It is very articulate and projects well when playing with a pick. It plays extremely well for a guitar of this vintage and the original frets still have quite a bit of life left. This model has a truss rod which is likely why it remained stable all these years.
There are a few top repairs near the f-holes and the original tailpiece has been replaced. Amazing condition for a 80 year old guitar! This guitar will ship in a padded gig bag.
